The real Hall of Fame, in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, features interactive exhibitions about the history and science of mining and prospecting. Their website includes lots of information about the huge amounts of different minerals we use everyday, as well as talking about exploration, mining and related health and safety and environmental issues.

Savage Earth
This site from the public television network in the USA explores the geological phenomena of tsunamis, earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. It includes detailed explanations of these processes, with animations and video footage of our restless planet.

Volcano World
If you’re a magma fan, try this site for information, pictures, questions and a knowledge test about volcanoes. It also includes ideas for teachers.

Visible Earth
This is the website to visit if you want photos of the Earth from space. It includes nearly 3000 images of floods, bushfires, oceans, deserts, and cities. The images are grouped under many subject and geographical region headings for easy searching.

Quake Trackers
The Quake Trackers program in New Zealand sets up seismometers (instruments that measure earthquakes) in classrooms. The website allows anyone to get involved, with earthquake records, an opportunity to ask a seismologist questions, and advice on how to prepare for and survive an earthquake.

Geoscience Australia is an Australian government organisation that produces information about the earth and its geology. There’s plenty of educational information for both students and teachers, covering everything from tsunamis to minerals.
